Reflections: 

The 2014 Virginia STARTALK Chinese Teacher Academy was a wonderful memory for me. It was three very intensive weeks, but the best three weeks of professional development! I have learned so much from Dr. Tseng, especially how to use the communicative instructional strategies in the class and use 100% target language to teach. I will design my lessons into more meaningful and communicative ways, and use 100% Chinese to teach Chinese in the future. I have also learned a lot from sharing the teaching strategies and resources with other teachers. I have not only became a more confident and effective teacher but also made friends with the most wonderful and talented people! The UVA STARTALK offers scholarship opportunities and has the best trainers and ready-to-use curriculum. This program was a fantastic and worthy experience to me. It has exceeded my expectations, and I absolutely recommend this great program to other teachers.
