YING-SIN CHEN

In this inspirational program, I learned effective practices to create a more “student-centered” class with authentic materials and communicative tasks. I learned techniques for selecting authentic materials and designing spiral-up tasks tailored to different proficiency levels.

Learning from mentors and peers about the effective use of technology tools to support teaching and spark student motivation has been rewarding.

I have gained insights into scaffolding learning step by step in a logical way, enhancing my awareness of how to design lessons and formulate effective elicitation questions.

The examination of teaching demos, engaging in peer-teaching, and participating in peer critiques has enabled me to closely examine and reflect on my own lesson design and scaffolding strategies for student learning.

Over two weeks spent collaborating on projects with peers, sharing ideas, and having fun, I've not only learned to be more confident in communicating ideas but also gained valuable firsthand teaching experiences from my peers.

I feel recharged with good food for thoughts from all mentors and peers, and I am motivated to continuously improve my teaching practices for the benefit of my students. I strongly recommend this program to all teachers seeking professional development opportunities.
